According to some of my military friends and everything that I had researched online about "Guam to do's" - Tarzan Falls is a must see. It was about a 30 to 40 minute drive from the hotel. Not terribly far and the drive as nice. At the trailhead there is a sign lettting you know your in the right place but that is it. Your own your own the rest of the time :-) The length is 1.4 mile to the falls. 1.4 miles is nothing and that is a walk in the park for the kids. They can traverse further than that and be happy clams. Not so much today though.....It was HOT!!!!
We started out nicely and enjoying ourselves. Got very messy along the way
We lost the tree canopy and were not in the wide open trail with the sun beating down... This is where it went south :-)
Needed walking sticks :-)
The views were amazing! It really is a pretty place
We thought we could follow the trail all the way the the tree gully in the middle thinking that there would be a waterfall down there. However, at this point we realized that we had walked further than 1.4 miles
CJ's legs were done
I kept saying a little further a little further, and we can go swimming!
All smiles for me - crabby for them
We made it to the river but not the water fall. We missed it somehow and really didnt understand how. The online guide on Tarzan Falls stated that all trails drop at the falls so clearly we missed it
I sent Will in search of the mythical waterfall
YAY! Swimming!!! It was nice and cool
CJ was so frustrated with life that he did not want to go in the water so I started to get in and he screamed - needless to say he changed his mind
Pure happiness
Jumping rocks in the rive
They had a blast swimming around
Will never found the alternate path that we may have missed for the waterfall. At this point we just gave up and stayed where we were.
Little bumps on a log
Tine to head back to the car
The walk back did not go well :-) Kids were so hot and tired and because we went to far, it was that much further to go. KIds toughed it out and really pushed, except CJ.... he was carried between Will and I.
Sad, we didn't see the falls but overall it was a nice hike and good day with the family.
