HELLO SYDNEY!

We landed in Sydney at 7:30am and it was go, go, go right form the start. We got through customs fairly quick and that is even with the kids having to use the bathroom every 10 minutes :-) Customs folks kept looking at me funny while I got in and out of line several times with a different child.

We stayed at the Marriott Circular Quay and let me tell you... it was great! The location was phenomenal! Short walks to just about anything. We could not get into our rooms that early so we went to the early arrival lounge and got to take a shower and freshen up. Then we wasted no time and hopped on the ferry to the Sydney Zoo. Like I said, it was a short walk to the pier and a 12 minute ferry ride to the zoo.

View of Circular Quay from the ferry

Sydney Harbor Bridge

Pretty impressive skyline here in Sydney :-)

Fort Denison -  This was just a basic island until late 1830's when two American War ships entered the harbor and circled the island. Sydney was concerned about their defense system against foreign attacks so a fort was constructed in 1841 but was not finished and construction ceased. In 1855, construction began again due to an increased threat of a Russian Naval attack during the Crimean War.

Does not look like much but this green forest is the zoo. It is located on hills and quite the workout when you traverse the zoo wrong like we did. Apparently your supposed to take the Skyrail to the top and exploare the zoo in a downward fashion then head back up the rail. We did not do that. We were all over the place and thought you could only take the rail to and from the ferry. Nope.... So we walked all the hills for no good reason but it was exercise for the day :-)

Troopers on the Skyrail with beautiful Sydney skyline

Giraffe's and Kangaroo's were pretty much the only real visible and out and about animals. Everything else was asleep

CJ lives a rough life :-) This is basically what he did the whole zoo trip

Seeing how they measure up to the Kangaroo

Joey's!!!! They were so cute - They fought over who eats out o the bowl so the zookeeper split the food into two

Sydney Harbor is so pretty!

Largest Pelican I have ever seen! I think this was the kids favorite part because they got so close

Kids and Sydney - They really were over me taking pictures

Great day at the zoo but we were exhausted and it was time to head back

At 4pm 3 of the 5 members of this family passed out - Ash was napping until the monster child made his way to the bed.

Sydney at night! We explored the area with the kids, had dinner, looked at some shops, and saw a pretty cool street performance.

I can never get them all the stay still and smile at the same time. CJ looks so inconvenienced!

Not the best photo in the world but we needed a Bridge Selfie

Opera House time! Mike and Ash kept asking to go to the place with the triangles

Good Night Sydney! Time for some rest and tomorrow we depart on an 11 night cruise! YAY!
