I asked the kids time and time again what they wanted to be for Halloween and I had some pretty interesting responses.... Ash requested Aurora so she could wear the elaborate dress her CiCi and Papa bought for her. Mike was different and said Zorro. Probably because he can carry a sword. CJ on the other hand never ceases to amaze me... This kid requested to be "D2D2".... Naturally, I was a bit confused as I did not know what a "D2D2" was. I was not expecting my almost 3 year old son to ask for R2D2 from Star Wars but nope I was wrong... It was indeed R2D2.
Challenge Accepted! Now.... how do you create a costume for a kid that hates to walk and make droid. You make the stroller into a costume. I found a picture on Pinterest and went off that. No instructions at all, I just went blindly into it. Who knew that with a BOB Stroller, cardboard boxes, paint, duct tape, and some tin foil you could create something so genius!
The vision is coming to life!
Hannah, one of our resident Engineers helped
She created the 3D legs
And here we are folks.... CJ has been transformed into R2D2
I went with my own thing for the side legs :-)
My scary little creatures!
Some of the little heathens running around :-)
Mike and Sophia & Ash and Ethan
Ash made it two houses before the dress had to come off. All the safety pins were falling out and with the rain, she was tripping on it. Can't have this dress getting torn now can we :-)
Will and R2 looking oh so happy in the rain
One last photo of the droid before we head in. It was so cold, rainy, and miserable.... trick or treating done after 30 minutes :-)
