Snow, Taj Mahal, Hockey, & The Plague ~ Could Not Ask for a Better Day!

We went to sleep with no snow after trick or treating and then woke up to this... Mike and Ash were so excited :-) Our dog on the other had barked at it thinking it would go away. Crazy lady!

We had tickets to the Sakhalin Sharks hockey game with two of Will's co workers, Hannah and Ben. The 5 Fry's invaded their peaceful lunch plans and headed to Taj Mahal for lunch with them!

This is the second time I have been here and we are always the only ones when I go - Besides Kyoto Sushi, this is my favorite place here to eat

Time for some HOCKEY!!!!!

Go Sharks!!! They played the Russian Junior National Team comprised of 18yrs and under ~ THEY ARE GOOD!!!! But when you play on the Russian National Team I would expect nothing less than exceptional

Russian National Anthem ~ Really pretty to listen too

Now.. I have seen a quite a few hockey games in my short 31 years of life and what an experience this was. Watching NHL or AAA American teams is much different in my opinion. This game was not as aggressive as American hockey or NHL tend to be. There is much more fineness in terms of skating and stick handling. I have never seen anything like it. These 18 yr old kids on the Junior National Team were fantastic! Quick maneuvers, effortless skating, and to be honest it was nice to not have a ref break up a fight every few minutes. Although.... one did almost break out and I got a little excited because hockey fights are exciting!!!

My Loves!

We left a little into the 3rd period. Kids were exhausted and we wanted out before the mass exodus. It was a pretty packed arena.

And now on to the plague that struck me down hard..... We got home from the game around 3 and by 6 I was going downhill fast. My fever shot up to 101 that night and I was miserable. Monday morning I was in tears because I was in so much pain and the fever was up to 102 now. My fever did not break on Monday at all. Even with alternating Advil and Tylenol. By Monday at 5pm I was pushing 103. Sore throat, no appetite...nothing. Just forcing bananas and crackers down. Laying around the house in hats and scarfs trying to warm up because I was freezing while running a temp close to 103. Tuesday morning I went over the 103 threshold, 103.2 to be exact Yes.... Before ya'll yell at me I did go to the clinic. I had an appointment at 3pm and when she took my temp I was 102.8 - She looked at my throat and the tonsils were inflamed, and puss pockets on the back of my throat. Rapid Strep culture came back negative. She diagnosed me with Tonsillitis and laryngitis immediately. She also gave me a flu test that came back negative but she was not confident in the test, She said it is a new test and the color that the strip turned bordered being positive and bordered negative. So I got treated for the flu also because she could not understand why my fever would not break... I left with a bunch of prescriptions and by Friday I was feeling much better. After 24 hours on medicine I was no longer contagious and was given the all clear to fly on Thursday :-)

Mike always makes sure I am ok ~ Love Him!!!
