Copenhagen, Denmark ~ Where Walt Got His Inspiration

TIVOLI GARDENS!!! The happiest place on Earth!! This is the 2nd oldest amusement park in the world. I knew of Tivoli Gardens. However... I thought it was just that.. GARDENS. It was a nice perk, take the kids there and let them run around. Then the concierge at the hotel was showing us the map and specifically pointed to this place and we should take the kids there. I guess Europeans really like their gardens. Yep... I'm a moron! When I googled the place I got so excited... OH!! AN AMUSEMENT PARK!! We must go there!! So we did.

Tivoli is where Walt Disney was inspired to create the Disney Parks. However... Tivoli is not the money guzzling empire that Disney Theme Parks have turned into :-) Kids under 10 are free it was so cheap for Will and I to enter. We did not buy an unlimited ride pass, instead we bought tickets for the rides that the kids could go on alone.

First ride ~ Old Fashioned Cars! The kids were so cute waiting in line with their tickets in hand waiting to give it to the man :-) When did they start growing up so fast!!!

The last time the kids went on a ride like this CJ was too short. Now he was tall enough and as soon as he gave his ticket to the attendant, he chickened out and ran back to us. Poor guy!

Ash an Mike LOVED it!!

Carousel Time!

Of course he picked the tallest and biggest thing to ride on!

CJ wanted to ride in the buggy and Ash didn't want him to be alone. She's a great big sister!

BUMPER CARS!!! Mike wanted to ride by himself

They were so cute! They had a jam up in the beginning but once they figured out that they have to put their foot on the red button to move it was game on! They got a few good bumps in :-)

Pure happiness!

Who doesn't love airplanes!! (Except me!)

This was the last ride they could go on without an adult and since I am pregnant I can't accompany the kids on other rides and Will can not take 3 kids by himself, amusement park rides were done for us. It was a cool place! They had some really big rides.

Next up, Tivoli Aquarium.....By aquarium I mean this one tank!!! BIG disappointment!! But there was a hammerhead shark in the tank so CJ and I were excited. It's our favorite shark :-)

Black Tip Reef Shark

Always have to see Nemo and Dory

All in all we walked 9 miles!! Kids did really well. Only complained the last mile because they were tired and wanted to be home.

Now time to head back to the hotel, sleep, pack, and board the cruise ship!

Good Bye Copenhagen! Next stop Berlin, Germany!

Copenhagen, Denmark ~ Rosenborg Castle

On Monday we woke up rejuvenated and ready to go. As I said earlier, we stayed a bit out of the city center. Walked to Rosenborg castle which was a little over 1 mile. The castle was on the way to the hear of the city center and a must see on our list of things to see in Copenhagen.

This castle was absolutely gorgeous! Rosenborg castle is a Renaissance castle that was built in 1609. It was a summer house for the Danish Royals.

CJ is clearly excited about this castle ~ Look at that mug!!

Ash was in love with all the elaborate "things" ~ She expressed great interest in all the couches and chairs

This was one of her favorite rooms. She asked if she could have this for her birthday :-)

Ceiling in the Great Room ~ Danish Coat of Arms

Coronation Chair

Queen's thrones with complete silver lions

Ash got really sad in this room because the king and queen were "lost" ~ She wanted them to be in their thrones

Castle treasury in the basement ~ This was Mike's favorite room :-) Swords and Guns!!!

Crown of King Christian IV

Crown of King Christian V

Queen's Crown

Royal Jewels

Ash and I need these in our lives!!!

Coronation Regalia ~ Sword of the State, Scepter, and Globus Cruciger

This treasury was a very small scale to what the Kremlin Armory was like in the Moscow posts.
